subSOYL

subSOYL helps identify and target compacted areas for efficient subsoiling. The compaction meter is an automated hydraulic penetrometer designed to be mounted onto a quad bike.

GPS software records a field boundary and a grid is then overlain to produce a sampling template. The bike is driven to each sampling point and the hydraulic compaction meter activated.

As the penetrometer moves down through the soil profile, pressure on the point of the penetrometer is recorded every 2 centimetres. The pressure is measured in psi and is recorded on the compaction meter software.

Site specific information can then be mapped and used to show where compaction occurs across the field and at what depth.

Pricing starts from £12 per hectare for sampling on a 25m grid, through 3 depth profiles.
