Popularity of precision fuels further winter workshops

SOYL Winter Workshops 2014-15
SOYL has confirmed the dates and locations of this year’s series of winter workshops.

Now into their fifth year, the workshops are proving increasingly popular, with more than 1000 growers attending last year’s events. The first of this year’s workshops takes place in Norwich on Tuesday 25th November 2014. In the following weeks events will take place across England and Scotland before the final event at Goodwood on Friday 13th February 2015. The full list of dates can be found below.

The free workshops give attendees the opportunity to learn more about the practicalities of precision crop production, discuss the benefits and see demonstrations of the latest technology. This year’s events will cover a range of topics, focusing on the cost benefit analysis of precision crop production, the opportunities presented by variable rate applications of PGRs and results from SOYL’s 2014 trials. There will also be the chance to see the latest features of MySOYL, the web-based system that allows users instant access to all of their precision crop production information, and to find out about variable rate cultivations.

“Bringing together like-minded growers to look to the future always generates stimulating conversation” says Simon. “It gives people the chance to share their experiences and discuss their options with other farmers who are in the same situation and location. And as always, members of the SOYL team will be on hand to share their expertise and offer advice.”

Events run from 9.30am* to 12.30 followed by lunch and an opportunity to network for 2 hours. BASIS (3) and NRoSO (3) points are available on attendance.
